please don’t waste your money unless you have no other choice

i would give this only a half a star if i could. there’s outages like every week. the service is barely better than the dorm wifi. the lag is insane and if there was a better option i wouldn’t even LOOK at Boingo.

Worse wifi ive ever had

WIFI keeps cutting out always an outage or an update. Called 4 times in 2 weeks with a different trouble shoot problem and is a different excuse everytime, either my phones mac address dissrupts the wifi and now apparently xbox disrupts it. Definitely would not recommend if your a gamer period

The 24 hour service is a joke you will…

The 24 hour service is a joke you will wait literal hours for help.
2-3 outages a week.
When Network is up it’s a nightmare to connect to multiplayer games even at 50 mbps

This company infuriates me

This company infuriates me. It is the only option available in military dorms. They enjoy a monopoly while jacking up the prices and providing sh!tty service. I often lose connection entirely, I can't play online or download anything, and sometimes I can't even load websites.
I pay for the Extreme speed (fastest package) at about $95 a month. I'm supposed to
get 100MB/s; I'm LUCKY to get 5.
They do nothing in terms of customer service and no one should use them unless you absolutely need to

Boingo is a fraud

Boingo is a fraud! I called last August to put my account on pause, and just realized I was still being charged $14.99 per month for a service I was not using. I called them and they say I had accepted a 3-month offer at 50%, and it looks like they went on with full price after that. I received no notification, no email from them since my call last year. Customer service was very defensive and it took them 10 minutes into the call to say that “they understand” my frustration. I find those business practices very unethical. They consciously decide to under-communicate with their customers to continue taking money even though they now we are not using their services. BAD BAD company. I will put my money elsewhere when I start travelling again. Their loss.

Hands down the worst WIFI I have ever…

Hands down the worst WIFI I have ever used I am paying $70 a month to receive 100 MBs when i get 700 kilobytes a second. I cant even load games half the time , and its just always been unreliable and you are forced to use WIFI, they couldn't afford to give modems that would allow you to plug in an ethernet cord. Unfortunately, being stationed in Japan, Boingo has monopolized the bases and is the only ISP here.

MONOPOLY OF A COMPANY

Jay was extremely unprofessional. She didn’t bother to offer and kind of troubleshooting. She on several occasions started yelling at me over the phone. Kept asking me “what do you wanna do” just showing a completely incompetence and lack of professionalism for your already terrible, monopoly of a company. You offer 60mbs of speed and in my YEAR of being a boingo customer i have not ONCE received what ive been paying for, ive even had on an occasion one of your reps say i will NEVER get the speed i pay for regardless of the plan i have. And due to the monopoly of a company you guys are for the military it’s extremely hard to switch to a different provider but you guys literally don’t care im also leaving a message on BBB and several other online sites. The sheer lack of professionalism within your customer care agents is actually insane. Your agents are never competent enough to help people with any kind of technical issue. Ive even had to coach a representative before on how to troubleshoot an issue with the xbox. Your company makes a fool out of us refunding cents and 1 and 2 dollars to us after taking 60 every month but giving 10-15 days of slightly average speeds still nowhere near what your customers are paying for. This company ought to be a shame of itself robbing the military of the already minuscule amount of money we make.

Constant outages, awful customer service, overpriced. They take advantage of military contracts.

This service deserves less than 1 star…

This service deserves less than 1 star for how GARBAGE it is. It needs to either get its s**t together or get taken down. Constantly disconnecting and ive had mulitple outages in one day and since its the only available service im stuck HAVING to use it. What a f***ing waste of money.

It goes out every day you would think if I'm paying 50 dollars a month for wifi it wouldn't cut out every 10 hours it's really slow and is not worth it's price I would just switch to cox

$50 monthly just to not have internet

I don’t know why I pay $50 a month for their “premium” service when I can’t stay connected for more than 5 minutes. I have to use cell service to even write this...
